Originally from Delaware, I first learned to center clay at my local art league just after college in 1994. I quickly became a regular at the pottery studio integrating a dedicated studio practice with my daily life. Within a few years I acquired a potter’s wheel, electric kiln, and a stack of how-to books to learn techniques, firing, and glaze preparation. My home was soon overflowing with ceramics to use and to share! From Delaware to Florida, Louisiana to Maine, my small home studio traveled with me ⏤ family, friends, and experiences shaping my practice and ceramics along the way. Since moving to Maine in 2012, my organic style has evolved to reflect the natural patterns, textures, and hues I experience when out exploring the peaceful woods and beautiful landscapes surrounding my home.

I use both my potter's wheel and hand building methods to craft my functional and decorative ceramics. Pieces are made of commercial stoneware and reclaimed clay. My glazes are personally prepared by me following favorite established recipes that I have collected over the years. All of my work is fired twice in my electric kiln ⏤ first to bisque and then to glaze-fire. This two-part process helps to ensure clay work and glazes successfully fire and yield beautiful, long-lasting ceramic treasures.

Using my handmade pottery at home — a mug for morning coffee, plates full for family dinner — brings a smile to my face. I hope my ceramics will radiate the same joy for you and become a treasured part of your everyday.
